Career and Experience

Susan Holder has worked in the English language field since 1988. She initially taught business and specialist English courses at Berlitz Berlin and subsequently at Siemens, Deutsche Telekom and Filmpark Babelsberg, among others.

Since 1996, Susan has worked as an in-house trainer at Vattenfall Europe Mining and Generation and its predecessor companies, conducting intensive language seminars for all levels. These seminars specialise in the energy business and communications skills, as well as in exam preparation for First Certificate in English (Cambridge University), the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business English Certificates and currently for the telc B1 Hotel and Restaurant Language Certificate.

This is matched by her experience providing one-to-one training of upper management staff and business English courses for employees at Vattenfall Europe in Berlin and Cottbus, as well as at the Group's Qualification Centre in Lübbenau, Brandenburg, in addition to various power plants. Susan has also worked extensively with Digital Publishing language learning software, integrating this into the blended learning environment. Furthermore, she was content advisor on the English for the Energy Industry short course book series, released by Cornelsen/Oxford University Press.

In additional to her managerial tasks, Susan is in charge of the pedagogical course content at HolderMorrin UG. One important aspect of this work is the assessment of feedback from participants on their learning progress and level of satisfaction with the course content. In addition she conducts assessment level tests with new participants in order to provide the optimal learning setting for them.
